WeareWISE

A one-year, personal and professional development program for small, diverse groups of women and women-identifying leaders working within the social sector in the New York City-metropolitan area. Through monthly meetings, the program provides access to growth opportunities, leadership development, a safe space for learning and sharing, and a network of supportive peers.

Program Summary

Issroff Family Foundation (IFF) envisions a world where all children and youth have promising futures in thriving communities. To that end, IFF offers WeareWISE: a year-long, personal and professional development program for small, diverse groups of women and women-identifying leaders working within the social sector in the New York City metropolitan area. Through monthly meetings convened by an IFF Team Member, the program provides access to growth opportunities, leadership development, a safe space for learning and sharing, and a network of supportive peers.

Over the course of the program, each member of a cohort is invited to lead one peer-learning session. Sessions cover a variety of topics but always reflect a spirit of sharing best practices for personal evolution and professional success. Sessions have covered topics like metrics, networking, negotiating pay, and work-life integration. In addition to monthly meetings, both current and alumni WeareWISE members are encouraged to attend a quarterly speaker series, called Community Conversations, as well as annual social gatherings.

I expected it to be more of a professional/networking experience and to feel more like work, but I was SO pleasantly surprised to benefit from the time for personal and relationship development.

Nora Rawlings

Joining this network came at a very helpful time for me because I met fantastic women who were ready to share experiences and give feedback and they appreciated me for my role at my previous job, but also saw me as a full person/professional outside of my job title. I loved Lisa's perspective at our meetings and building a relationship with her and am happy to continue friendships with many of the WeareWISE women.

IFF over the years has made a big impact on me. THANK YOU for all you do. The journey continues...and I am delighted to be on the path of building a better world with both of you and the IFF community.

Susan Fulwiler

I challenged myself to show up as my raw self without performing, and the group was consistently welcoming and supportive. This experience opened up a space where I was free to be and could find my voice.
