Toa Nafasi Foundation

Nova was sexually abused multiple times by three neighbors from the age of six. As a survivor, he speaks about his childhood experience publicly in hopes to raise awareness about abuse and violence of vulnerable children, addressing the silence, stigma and shame in his community. Nova is a co-founder of Toa Nafasi Foundation, an impact driven organization building the asset of young adults to create safe and inclusive environments for children in and out of schools. Additionally, he is a founder of Harambee Fund, a platform that tells local impact stories and attracts community assets to fund rural initiatives and communities in Tanzania. He is passionate about safety, inclusion, and technologies that address challenges in his community. Nova is a 2023 Collaborative Learning Initiative of the Issroff Family Foundation and 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumnus.
