Areas of Focus
Solidlinks Initiative for Development is a female-led community-based organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and youth in Kasese District, Uganda. The organization promotes sustainable livelihoods, food security, and environmental protection through climate-smart agriculture, education, vocational skills, and advocacy for gender equity. Solidlinks also addresses community challenges including poverty, gender-based violence, and limited access to reproductive health services. Its mission is to empower marginalized groups so that every woman and girl can realize her potential and contribute to community transformation, building resilient and self-reliant communities across the district.

Peninah is a Social Worker with experience in community development and the Team Leader at Solidlinks Initiative for Development, a community-based organization in Kasese District. She holds a Bachelor of Social Works and Social Administration from Makerere University and currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management. She has previously worked as a Community Development Officer in Rubirizi Local government and also worked as a Project Manager at CJSI. Penny is passionate about engaging with women, youth and marginalized groups to create opportunities for skill development, economic empowerment, and address food insecurity in homes. Her work aims at driving positive change while contributing to broader development in communities.
