Komuge Community Initiative (KCI) enhances the well-being of women and young people in rural communities by fostering equity, dignity, and sustainable development through community-led solutions. Its vision is empowered rural communities capable of driving their own resilience and long-term development. KCI prioritizes locally rooted approaches that ensure women and youth have the skills, resources, and voice needed to shape their communities. By centering community ownership and gender equity, KCI works to build inclusive, thriving environments where marginalized groups can access opportunity and achieve meaningful, lasting change.

Okiria Emmanuel is a dedicated advocate for children and young mothers, driven by a passion to empower them economically and improve their living conditions. He works tirelessly to ensure schools have clean water, VIP pit latrines, and conducive classrooms, promoting hygiene and education. Through livelihood initiatives, he enables young mothers to support their families and build a brighter future. Okiria's compassion, leadership, and commitment inspire hope and progress in the communities he serves. His selfless efforts are transforming lives, one child and one family at a time, creating a lasting impact in Eastern Uganda.

Richard Young is a Co-founder and Programs Director of the Komuge Community Initiative (KCI), leading strategic community development projects in WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and Livelihood that bring healing and transformation to women and young people.
He is committed to translating local needs into actionable programs, ensuring sustainable solutions and long-term community well-being. Additionally, he is an active road safety advocate.
