Ikamva Labantwana Bethu (ILB) is dedicated to transforming the township of Crossroads and surrounding communities in Cape Town—reducing high crime rates and creating a place of peace where children access quality education and out-of-school youth gain meaningful skills. Through education, skills development, and employment creation, ILB works to build opportunity and safety for youth and adults alike. Its ultimate mission is community transformation, using learning and economic empowerment as the primary tools for lasting, positive change in Crossroads and beyond.

Siviwe Dlukwana

Founder and Executive Director

Cohort Year

2026

Siviwe Dlukwana grew up in Crossroads Township, one of Cape Town’s most underserved communities, where poverty and crime were daily realities. Out of 250 students in his primary school, only two reached university—he was one of them. The loss of his brother to gang violence fueled his mission to create change. In 2012, Siviwe founded Ikamva Labantwana Bethu (ILB), a nonprofit providing academic support, mentorship, and holistic development for youth. Today, he leads ILB’s strategic growth and advocacy, recently expanding to rural Eastern Cape to reach communities with even fewer opportunities. His guiding principles: Commit. Believe. Grow. Inspire. Respect.
