Areas of Focus
Generation Rise, founded in 2018, addresses opportunity gaps between young women and men in Rwanda's rural communities. This community-based organization, led by passionate young women including program graduates, empowers girls through education, dialogue, and reading culture. Their programs include career development, mental health training, and sexual reproductive health education, with emphasis on peer support and mentorship to create gender-equitable communities.

Solange strongly believes that education is not just a right, it is the key to creating a society where a very woman is the agent of her future. Driven by her own experiences, she founded Generation Rise, a women led non-profit organization which aims at empowering the next generation of young women to realize their boldest, wildest dreams and drive transformative change in their communities. Solange has more than 10 years of experience in managing community development projects for NGO’s supporting education and women’s rights initiatives for Rwandan youth, with a focus on girls and women in rural communities.
She is a proud Generation Rwanda Scholar, a competitive program awarding full university scholarships and leadership training to orphans and other socially vulnerable youth with outstanding secondary school performance.
Solange holds a bachelors’ degree in Journalism and Communications and is a former Global Health Corps Fellow.
