Cosma relieves the burden of extreme low-income and raises standards of living among rural Ugandan farming households through economic empowerment programs. Programs provide agricultural development financing, agricultural skills training, and scholarships to school-age students.

Nsambya Charles is the Executive Director and Founder at Cosma. Charles holds a Bachelors of Arts in Development Studies from Makerere University. Charles has over 10 year’s progressive experience in empowering local communities and businesses in Uganda. Since 2010, Charles set up a team of his friends to raise funds to support over 10 vulnerable students at his village. At the time Charles had completed his university degree, he was employed in Capital microcredit–a microfinance company that was empowering local business communities through providing cheap micro credits. He has been the overall coordinator of field program activities and is responsible for coordinating with the national and international partners to improve the scale of Cosma programs in Uganda. Charles is very passionate about how every life of the vulnerable people changes. He enjoys interacting with younger children and people from his community to learn their life experience.

George is a social entrepreneur with 15 years of experience in providing social services to rural communities. His focus has been on public/private partnership approaches for sustainable development in Agriculture and development financing. His models have stimulated demand and improved services of private sector companies in providing social services in rural communities. George’s vision is to facilitate market systems development in ensuring sustainable poverty reduction solutions in sub-Saharan Africa.
