Candlelight for Empowerment envisions an educated and protected society with equal opportunities for young people to nurture their potential and experience the world, regardless of poverty, ethnicity, gender, religion, or special needs. Their mission advances access to education, protection, and sustainability for vulnerable young people in coastal Kenya through a long-term holistic integrated approach.

Lilian is the founder and executive director for Candlelight for Empowerment Community-Based Organization. Lilian is a seasoned project planning and management professional known for successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Lilian excels at managing stakeholder expectations, mitigating risks and ensuring seamless project, planning, execution as well as project monitoring and evaluation.
With a strong portfolio of over 20 successfully implemented projects, Lilian is well known for her role in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project and programs. With her strong technical acumen and leadership skills, Lilian has led cross-functional teams in implementing humanitarian projects at the coast of Kenya.
Her advocacy for organizations to embed safeguarding standards, best practices and procedures in the project cycle has largely yielded positive safeguarding outcomes.
Lilian is a holder of Bachelor of Arts in Project Planning and Management degree (first class honors) and Masters of Arts in Project Planning and Management degree from the University of Nairobi. Lilian graduated recently with a second masters of arts in Strategic Planning.
Lilian is highly motivated, a good team player and mature lady of integrity who loves creating hope in the world. Her passion is to advance access to education, safeguarding and protection of bright but vulnerable young children as well as prevention of violence within communities.
