JM Education and Research Centre (JMERC) believes that every person and every community represents a potential resource, no matter the situation in which they are. With this in mind, JMERC uses education as a tool to help learners develop their fullest potential by discovering their identity, self-worth, resilience, and sense of belonging.

John founded JMERC in January 2020 envisioning a world where all learners can learn, achieve and thrive, become socio-economically agile, transforming their families and communities. Inspired by this vision, John has since then emerged as an outstanding institutional leader, establishing strategic partnerships, collaborations and projects. He is an adaptive leader and an ardent lover of continuous professional learning and improvement. He recently completed a Fellowship with Collective Learning Initiative (CLI) of the Issroff Family Foundation (IFF) – 2022; a Fellow with Acumen Academy of East Africa – 2022, winner of the Covid-19 Remote Learning Emergency Fund by the National Geographic Society (NGS) 2021-2022; winner of the CODE’s Context Matters research project 2020-2022. He recently enjoined JMERC into the Regional Educational Learning Initiative (RELI) – a network of 75+ organizations working in the education space in East Africa. He has recently been elected the Co-Lead for RELI-Uganda.
