Girl Power Foundation

Ainembaabazi Winnie, a 29-year-old Ugandan leader spearheads Girl Power Foundation Uganda a CBO in Kanungu. Escaping a forced marriage at 16, she founded the organization to counter rising rates of girls; school dropouts, teenage pregnancies, and child marriages.Winnie's fervor for girl empowerment fuels her efforts. In her work she focuses on skills development for girls in her community, mentorship and self esteem building and keeping girls in school. She envisions a world where every girl grows to her utmost potential. Recognized for her impact, Winnie received a Gender Equality Award from Uganda Youths and adolescents Health Forum. She has Participated in leadership trainings like the YALI RLC EA and AWE by US. Mission, CLI by Issroff Family Foundation, CLD Incubator by The Coffee Chain Collaborative anddifferent trainings by Amplify Girls Coalition, amplifying her dedication to empowering women and girlsin Uganda.
