Jeremiah M. Muriithi is a disability rights and inclusion advocate. Jeremy was born in the slums of Kibera, Kenya, with a physical disability. He beat the odds of life and managed to attend a reputable university with dual accreditation, called United States International University. While studying for a BSc. International Business Administration, he became involved in a local government Parastatal called Lapfund as a Human Resource and Administration Officer. Quickly Jeremiah realized how difficult it can be for youths with disability to secure employment in Kenya even after finishing their education. This prompted him to co-found Gifted Community Center. Including his work with Gifted Community Center, Jeremy has experience in the management of programs and programme teams with international NGOs. He approaches his work with a passion for delivering and changing multiple and complex programs, leading and managing teams in fast-paced international NGOs, and building strong partnerships and working relations. He is also a data enthusiast with experience in resource mobilization, strategic project management, policy formulation and analysis, and disability qualitative research. As a youth leader, Jeremy has supported 10+ local youth-led/youth-serving organizations to develop robust strategies that align with the needs of the community.
